Deputy Chief Wood accepts a check from Nathan Blauvelt from Connecting Point Computer CenterPeru, Illinois — Connecting Point Computer Center announces that its July 2025 Jean Day donation has been directed to support the City of Streator Police Department’s “Shop With a Cop” program.
Each month, Connecting Point employees participate in “Jean Day,” contributing donations for the opportunity to wear jeans to work. These funds are then pooled and donated to a local nonprofit or community program, making a positive impact in the Illinois Valley.
For July 2025, the team selected Streator PD’s Shop With a Cop initiative, a program that pairs police officers with children from local families in need. During the event, officers accompany youth on shopping trips, helping them select clothing, school supplies, or holiday gifts, while also building positive relationships in a fun, supportive environment.
Why Shop With a Cop Matters
