July 2025 Jean Day Donation YSBIVNathan Blauvelt from Connecting Point
& Matt Comerford, CFO of YSBIV
Peru, Illinois —
As part of its ongoing commitment to community service, Connecting Point Computer Center is proud to announce that the July 2025 Jean Day donation will benefit the Youth Service Bureau of Illinois Valley (YSBIV).

Each month, Connecting Point employees have the opportunity to wear jeans in exchange for a small donation. Those funds are pooled and presented to a local nonprofit organization.

For July, the contribution will help YSBIV continue its vital work serving youth and families across 20 counties in northern Illinois.

About Youth Service Bureau of Illinois Valley

Founded in 1976, YSBIV is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit committed to helping young people and families thrive in their homes, schools, and communities.

Their programs include:

  • Foster Care — providing temporary homes, support, and services when children cannot safely remain in their own homes.

  • Runaway & Homeless Youth Services — crisis intervention, short-term counseling, and basic support for youth in crisis.

  • Intact Family Services — working with families to resolve underlying stresses so children can remain safely at home

  • Supervised Visitation & Exchange — providing safe visitation settings when domestic conflict or court orders require oversight.

  • Counseling & Mental Health Treatment — trauma-informed therapy, individual, family, and group treatment services.

  • Support Services for Homeless Youth (ages 16-21) — helping with housing, life skills, employment, education, and connections to other services.

YSBIV is nationally accredited by the Council on Accreditation and is licensed in the state of Illinois to provide child welfare services.

Impact of the Jean Day Donation

With the July 2025 donation, Connecting Point hopes to support YSBIV in:

  • Covering operational or program costs (e.g., materials, facility needs, outreach)

  • Enhancing services for youth in crisis or unstable situations

  • Expanding awareness of YSBIV’s mission across the Illinois Valley area

Beyond the financial gift, the monthly Jean Day program helps connect the staff of Connecting Point to the nonprofits in their region — raising awareness and fostering partnerships.

Thank You to our Staff
