May 26, 2012

dave_pypno_benefitDear Friends, Customers and Colleagues,

Follows is a letter from the wife of our employee and co-worker Dave Pypno.

On Sunday November 27,2011, after a traumatic and emotional trip to the emergency room, my husband David and I, received test results from a CT SCAN that revealed cancer in David's right lung that was severely compressing one of the main veins that returns blood back to the heart. This condition is called Superior Vena Cava Syndrome. Due to the possible dangers of his condition he was sent by ambulance to St. Francis Hospital in Peoria where he spent the next 6 days while doctors worked to relieve the extreme pain and vein compression due to the tumor. After tests, scans and biopsies, we soon learned that the cancer had spread to his liver. David's condition was now classified as Stage IV lung cancer.

David is currently undergoing radiation treatments and chemotherapy to attempt to shrink the tumors in his lung and liver. Doctors are working to give David as much extended quality time as possible while our son Andrew and I, and all our family and friends pray for a miracle.

We have been blessed with the loving care, concerns and actions of our family and friends and were recently approached by some of them, to ask if they could help us with the overwhelming financial battle that we now also face due to mounting medical expenses, by organizing a benefit.

My name is Laura (Reed) Pypno. My husband David Pypno, our son Andrew and I, hope that you can, in some way, contribute to this benefit that will help to defer some of our medical expenses.

Thank you for taking the time to read about David's and our family's struggle to survive the physical, mental, emotional and financial battles that we now face. We pray that someday soon, a cure for cancer will be found, so that no other families will have to suffer the great sorrows that this horrible disease inflicts.

Sincerely,

Laura, David and Andrew Pypno
